Green Sustainable Living is a part of GSIS Philosophy and as a school,we strongly promote our vision of a peaceful, sustainable world through education.Good Shepherd School’s vision to reintroduce children to nature and its sustainability has led to a seamless integration of Green Concept in the regular school curriculum and the school has seen the fruition of several Green-projects.
How many of us get the pleasure of watching our vegetables and fruits grow? We at GSIS like to explore the science behind growing and cooking our food. Our Gsisans observe, explore and investigate new concepts in direct contact with nature. They are learning to appreciate and connect with nature.
Good Shepherd International School proudly takes on the responsibility of Going Green in every aspect of its infrastructure. The water from all the washbasins is also collected. The reverse bore pumps are used to transfer the collected water to the river close to the school. We are the best Green school . The features help us to limit the use of air conditioning throughout the school without causing inconvenience. Large and green sports fields provide wonderful learning opportunities to the students in an almost no-pollution atmosphere.
The Composite Lab provides facilities and opportunities for students of classes 6 to 10 in carrying out experiments and activities in all science subjects. The lab is well equipped and can accommodate more than 20 students at a time. The lab settings include spacious tables with plug points to perform experiments with electricity, lenses and prisms for light experiments in optics, reagent shelves, sinks and water taps, Bunsen burner, reagents and chemicals for experiments in chemistry, sufficient number of microscopes for slide preparations and observations, charts and models etc... Students get equal opportunity for developing their scientific skills and interests by following the principle of learning by doing
Language is the dress of thought and language learning becomes effective only if we provide various kinds of learning opportunities and tools catering to the learners. The language lab at GSIS offers a platform for the students to hone their fourfold skills in English language learning. The students actively get involved in language learning exercises and get more practice than otherwise possible in a traditional classroom environment. The emphasis is given on the pronunciation part as well as communication skills. One period in a week is extensively spared for language lab use by every student from classes 1-10. The perfect ambience along with audio –visual installation , makes language learning more enjoyable ,enthusiastic and effective. The arrangement fosters interactive sessions between teachers and students. It also enables the learners to work more on language drills focusing on phonetics and thereby helping them to gain confidence in developing their language skills paving the way for a bright future.
The school has state-of-the-art computer labs to cater to students at Junior, Middle and Senior School levels so that every student can keep abreast with IT enhanced learning programmes. They gain proficiency and dexterity in current technology with optimized supportive infrastructure with the latest hardware and software and a team of extremely competent staff. There is a wide platform for our children to not only explore IT frontiers as a subject, but to ingeniously explore and make forays into IT supported art medium in the field of designing , photography and movie making.
Producing music is a fascinating part of our industry, and there are many excellent training programs in music production to choose from. Not all music production programs require you to train as a musician, but most do.
Qualified and experienced teachers act as counselors and provide assistance to children with respect to learning, emotional and behavioral difficulties observed in school. Help is offered in terms of counseling and guiding students and parents. The counselors also suggest suitable interventional remedies to handle difficulties. A full time trained Career Councilor helps the students with all career related issues.
